The band Blind Guardian is the epitome of power metal!

What began as a dream of 4 young boys from Krefeld in 1984, led to international success.

The group “Lucifer's Heritage” was formed by Hansi Kürsch on vocals, Andre Olbrich and Marcus Dork on guitars and Thomen Stauch on drums. 3 years later they changed their name to Blind Guardian and released metal classics such as “Tales From The Twilight World” and “Nightfall in Middle-Earth”. The band found a way to unite the metal and fantasy literary worlds, moving into a style never seen before.

After years of working together, Marcus and Thomen left the band and Marcus Siepen and Frederik Ehmke took the places of drummer and guitarist.

By 2020, Blind Guardian had already sold 3 million records and the numbers are still rising. Although their current musical style is based on the 90s, they still move in modern metal and find the necessary balance.

Kürsch's lyrics are inspired by novels such as “The Witcher” or “Battlestar Galactica”, but are adapted to real life. The new album “The God Machine” is about witch-hunts, war and paranoia. Blind Guardian manages to work these dark and sad themes into the heaviest metal songs.
